Garbage Collection
Collection is on Mondays starting at 8:00 a.m.
Contractor takes all household garbage on collection day. All garbage must be bagged at a reasonable lifting weight.
Spring Clean Up
It’s that time again to get rid of those things that have been collecting up all year long. Spring Clean Up will take place on May 27th and 28th as well as on June 3rd and 4th. All items must be placed as close to the road as possible without creating a hazard to drivers and must be out by 8:00 a.m. The contractor will start at the beginning of Goose Cove by Keith Woolridge’s at 8:00 a.m. on May 27th and will work his way around to Trinity.
The contractor will not be responsible for taking hazardous materials such as tires, batteries, etc., and absolutely NO GRASS. Items must be able to be handled by two people.
If at 8:00 a.m. you do not have your garbage out and the contractor has already passed
he will not be back on that day to pick it up.
The garbage contractor will not be responsible for hauling away any construction or demolition refuse from sheds, garages, houses, buildings, etc. that
are under construction or renovation. Clean-up of job sites are the responsibility of the contractor and/or property owner.
No household garbage will be collected on clean up days, this garbage will be collected on its regular day, Monday.
Town Council would like to remind you that absolutely no grass will be collected during regular household garbage collection this summer. Please keep your lawn mowed regularly so the clippings can remain on the lawn and not in garbage bags.
At this time we would also like to remind residents to please cover their garbage, either in containers, a garbage box, or place some type of covering over loose bags to avoid having to clean up bags that have been destroyed by animals.
Garbage disposal will be transported to the Charleston Sweet Bay Waste Disposal Site.
Waste Disposal site is open on Saturdays between 10 am and 4 pm.
